Sorry I have not posted anything for a while but I want to address something which I think is very important for everyone.

It is concerning the Holy spirit and speaking in tongues.

I copied a sheet from my church on this matter because it explains perfectly all about this.

What the Bible Says About the Holy Spirt

You Must Receive God's Holy Spirit with the Sign of Speaking in Tongues - If You Want Eternal Life.

MATTHEW 3:11	The Holy Spirit outpouring foretold: "I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I... He (Jesus) shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire."
JOHN 3:5	"Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."
ROMANS 8:9	"...Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
God's Word shows to this age that anyone who wants eternal life must receive His Spirit.
LUKE 24:49	The disciples were told to wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit was poured out upon them.
ACTS 1:8	The Holy Spirit brings God's power into a person's life.
LUKE 11:9-13	"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened... how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"
ACTS 2:4	"And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance."
(GOD'S WORD SHOWS that this is the actual experience of receiving the Holy Spirit.)
ACTS 10:44-46	The Holy Spirit is given to all who will obey God's Word. To Cornelius (an Italian) in this instance: "...on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For theyheard them speak with tongues, and magnify God."
ACTS 19:6	"And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied." Read verses 1-7. God demands obedience to the pattern He has laid out in His Word: He commands that all men follow it in order to enter His kingdom. GOD'S SALVATION IS AN EXPERIENCE, not just a form of man's words and ways. YOU MUST OBEY GOD!
1 CORINTHIANS 14:2	In the Apostle Paul's letters to the Corinthian Church, he revealed unto them several important matters concerning praying in tongues. In this verse, we see that a person who is praying in tongues is speaking directly unto God. Verse 4: A believer is himself edified or 'built up' in faith as he prays. Verse 22: Tongues also are A SIGN to unbelievers (see HEBREWS 2:4). Verse 39: Paul closes this chapter of Corinthians with the WARNING: "and forbid not to speak with tongues." See also MARK 16:16-18 on the opposite side: BELIEVERS WILL SPEAK IN TONGUES.
JOHN 14:16-18,22-26; JOHN 15:26; JOHN 16:7-14: These verses show that only the Holy Spirit can reveal God's Word to us.
JOHN 7:38-39	"He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive...)"
IF YOU HAVE NOT FOLLOWED GOD'S SALVATION PATTERN - THEN YOU ARE NOT SAVED!
ACTS 2:37-39	A command and a promise to all who want to follow Christ. "Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent (change your mind and look to God), and be baptized (immersed or dipped) every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."
(How will we know we have the Holy Spirit? Read ACTS 2:4 again. As the Holy Spirit fills a person He causes him or her to speak in tongues). End of the sheet There is one more thing I like to add which is that when it speaks about the 9 spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12:4 there is a greek word "charisma" used and when its speaks about the Holy spirit in Acts 2 : 38 it talks about a "Dorea" gift. Now the Dorea gift everyone will receive as it says in Act 2 : 38 and other scriptures diffrent to the 9 charisma gift which not everyone will receive. I hope this makes sense to you and you know now what the word of God says about this very important subject. I have found a lot of confusing doctrine about speaking in tongues and a lot of people are miss guided and just don't know the truth. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee,......
